Eye Tea

A busy shift today made easier by an intermission having a natter with lovely bestie. Just before clocking off I received a phonecall from eldest saying she was having problems formatting her Uni dissertation using the online version of Microsoft Word and could I call at my parents house where she was decamped at their dining table with her Chromebook.

Now in our household, apart from youngest who has a gaming laptop that runs Windows*, we learnt years ago that there are much better ways of doing things on computers. For years we used Linux operating systems and more recently due to doing most things online, Chrome OS.

Uni provide their students with the online version of Microsoft Office and to say we are not impressed is an understatement. Bestie sent a message of support and added that MS Word is 'both simultaneously amazing and terrible'...

...eldest said thank you & said that she had yet to witness the amazing side of it ;-D

You would think that writing a dissertation on Classical Studies would be the difficult bit, not the word processing! Anyway, rant over, I think she now has the measure of it fingers crossed :-)

* she also has an XBox which is Microsoft but that's okay cos' it has Flight Simulator ;-D
