Ready to eat
We started the day by walking around to where Jemma was staying to help with her bags - that's where I took this shot. The hotel was just around the corner, and we left her bags in the luggage storage there - she was getting the train back to London. Then we all went and had a lovely breakfast, sitting in the sun, in Exchange Square. In M&S we grabbed some provisions for the journey back and separated; Jemma for a Mancunian mooch before letting the train take the strain, Cal and I to fire up the motor and head South.
I drove back through Stockport and then over the tops through Sparrowpit, Peak Forest and Baslow to Chesterfield and then down the M1, A14 and M11 to join the M25 nearer to the bridge. All up it took as long as the journey on Friday, but it was far more picturesque, we had the roof down and the temperature was recorded as 25 or 26 degrees for much of the way (the photo in the extras was taken by Cal because I was driving). The other photo is the view of Chesterfield from one of our stops.
A great weekend, I need to rest now - my legs ache from all the walking. Day off tomorrow and back to work on Wednesday.
