Saltpan houses

Built 1670 these now derelict Saltpan houses are on St Nicolas golf course in Prestwick.
Not far away is a huge wooden frame covered in Blackthorn. Sea water drops down the tower and salt crystals form. This is an unique process which started in 2019 and is very successful and tasty!
