Spring Slushin in Shorts
On a beautiful spring day of 60f (16c) and sunny we ventured out for the last ski day of our season! The conditions were somewhere between waterskiing and ice skating but we had a very fun day regardless! Lots of bare patches to watch out for but the high alpine skiing was acceptable. I ventured out in shorts and, as expected, got a nice sunburn at my boot line!
Graham (father in-law, first extra) can be seen here trying to keep up with me, he claims it’s because he knows something about elegant and controlled skiing! Third extra is from the top of Breckenridge's highest lift + a small hike (13000ft/~4000m) where you can see over to the Sawatch range which includes the two tallest peaks in Colorado, Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive (~14,400/4400m).
The second extra is a moose! Naturally you see the best animals when you don't have your camera but the phone will do. We saw him while looking at some plots of land for sale near(ish) the ski resorts. Lily and I have dreamt up an idea to build a cabin in the mountains but so much work is needed to just determine if this is a worth while adventure!
