Avocets

One of my favourite wading birds, there were quite a few of these elegant fowl passing through when l visited RSPB Minsmere on Sunday.
My extra is an odd structure which l questioned several people about without any luck and resorted to Google at home.  It is one of 3 artificial nesting structures (ANS) built off the nearby coast, this one is 1.4km off Minsmere.  I thought they looked good in the pearlescent light and hope many birds will find a home and refuge there with 6 birds already in the far right facet.
