Onward! The Sailors Cry

After a comfortable night in Morar we packed up and had a walk by Loch Morar before heading to Mallaig. We'd had a message from CalMac a few weeks ago to say that the boat would leave an hour later than the original time. Just as well we went in time for a leisurely coffee though because the time had reverted to the original without a follow-up message. No harm done but there could have been a problem.

The blip is from the boat, the MV Loch Fyne, as we sped towards Armadale on the Isle of Skye. The view is back to the rugged Knoydart Peninsula on the mainland. We used to spend a lot of time near Arisaig and would always include trips to Skye and Inverie, Knoydart's main settlement. We went back to Knoydart a couple of years ago but we haven't been to Skye for a long time.

We stopped in Armadale and walked in the woodland behind the Clan Donald Centre. Bluebells everywhere. Then in Broadford we had ciabatta with local salmon, rocket and maple ricotta. Sounds outlandish but it worked.

Skye is so beautiful! We are staying in a tiny cabin by the sea. It really is tiny but very well thought out. It's just one room + a shower room but what more do we need. I don't intend to cook complicated meals and we have an armchair chair each and a table on some decking outside. And a bed. We're sorted!  As for the weather - it couldn't be better.

Heard my first cuckoo today. In fact I've heard a few.
