The last of the bluebells
On the way to my mother’s this evening I swung by our bluebell wood just because I haven’t missed a sighting there in many many years. I think they were probably at their peak last weekend as they’re a bit faded now. I have bumped the colour up a tad in the photo, if it feels too much I might knock it back but they almost always come out too faint, the vivid blue sucked under by the green below. It was a lovely restorative walk and the dog loved it as well.
With Mum, Jono was there and we had a cup of tea and then she and I sat in the garden looking for swifts (normally to be seen in Hambledon) and chatting in the sun.
For most of the day I was working in the barn office and I made myself asparagus and poached eggs for lunch. What a beautiful spring we’re having.
The trees in the wood were epic too, the green so bright and the light filtering through onto the flowers. The wild garlic is now gone to flower which is also showing me there is far more of it in the woods than there used to be.
