Last Tulip Standing

…in my mother’s garden. Down here in the Rhine valley, the tulips have finished blooming already.

T, the new carer, arrived in the early morning. After a long bus journey through the night, the 77-year old lady had a difficult day learning about her new job in my mother’s house.

She seems nice and friendly, but her German is basic at best. Thankfully, E was still there until the afternoon, to explain everything in Polish, but T still asked the same questions several times. I very much hope that it was due to her tiredness, not to age-related cognitive problems.

At the moment, I‘m still doubtful whether she is up to her job.
