Volunteering

Volunteering at Tuppenny Barn today and it was such a beautiful day - sunny and around 23 degrees centigrade. Our main task was to clear and prepare beds, then plant out seedlings which we needed to do in straight rows with accurate spacing. Refreshments were served in the marquee which is now up for the summer. Today’s cake was Madeira cake in the shape of a rabbit!

Also today, Andy travelled to Nottingham to visit his uncle. He’ll stay with him for a few days. So this evening Merlin and I are keeping each other company (0:

These flowers are hanging in one of the potting sheds I was in today. Their bleached colours and dry flower heads seemed such a contrast to the vibrant spring colours and lushness in the garden at this time of year.
