Life's Little Moments

First...

Of what will, no doubt, be a ridiculous number of hummingbird shots this year.  Can't help myself, not even gonna try.  I shot this at 1/2000th of a second which is a little slower than what I'd usually choose, but workable.  I actually like the way his right wing is kind of blurred so that you can see his red gorget through the wing tip.

Had a great walk with my birder friends this morning.  The weather was beautiful and we recorded 52 species.  Mind you, if I was walking by myself, I would never have been able to get that number.  It's always nice to be with people who know more than I do - I always learn something.

Back at home this afternoon I heard the season-first Baltimore Oriole somewhere up in the trees.  I've got halved oranges out so hoping that they will soon attract a bright orange oriole.  Have I mentioned how much I like this time of year?

Hubs and I recently watched "Conclave" which seemed appropriate right now.  I wish I could say I loved it but I found it a little dark actually.  The acting was great and the cinematography was really fabulous but the whole thing was a little too dark for me.

Looking forward to catching up with bestie Peggy tonight on the phone while hubs is at karate.

xoxo
