A Special Day

Today I woke up a day older like everyone else but I also woke a year older. Today I turned 65.

I began my day by going to Hudson’s and buying more garden tubs and potting soil as tomorrow the seedlings that Kent has bought me for me birthday will arrive.

I had just gotten home when the Keeter girls arrived to bring me a birthday cupcake that looked like a hydrangea and birthday cards they had made. (The best kind of card)

I decided to pull weeds in the front garden and had just finished up when my friends Diane & Lois from church stopped by for a visit. Diane had made me an awesome cheesecake and Lois, a couple of brownies and a beautiful potted plant.

I sat on the porch for a couple of hours and of course MiniMe kept me company.

This evening, the Fife’s stopped by and brought me a hummingbird mobile but even better were the words the kids had written in the cards that they gave me.

Throughout the day, I got phone calls, text messages and messages on Facebook and they all helped to make my day awesome.

My nephew, Aonghas, never fails to send me an interesting book to read and he also called me from Glasgow.

It doesn’t take a lot to make me happy and all the various types of messages I got today from people near & far, made my day. Thanks Everyone.
