Dust Bath

I decided on a visit Wallasea Island for a walk around what is now, apparently, “New Wallasea Island RSPB Reserve”! I often visit the island itself (as it’s a short but entertaining ride away) but rarely bother with the RSPB bit. I had a pleasant enough walk and was relieved not to be accosted by any twitchers and the inevitable social ostracisation on them discovering that my avian knowledge is minimal and “I just like to photos of things that move, mate”. If you read the information boards dotted about the place you’ll learn they have a good variety of species there, and so they should considering the amount of government money that seems to have been spent on the place. I saw a lot of gulls, and then more gulls… and also noisy Eurasian skylarks (at least I think that’s what this bird is) so this is what my Blip is. There’s a flying one as an extra. Heh, I guess it makes a change from a mallard :)
