A Bug's Life

Or maybe death.

The gardener has been here all day today doing a grand job on the lawn, and generally getting everything else under control. She said she was too squeamish though to deal with this rather large bug, stuck in a spider's web by the roses. A Google search suggests a cockchafer or May bug (but it's still April, just). We ummed and ahhed about whether to release it but in the end I decided to ease it free. It was still covered in sticky web but eventually opened its wings and took off. In the direction of another garden I hope!

Nothing much else to report today. I need to do some packing now as we are off to Wapping tomorrow, after voting of course.
