Yardstick

I had to break it gently to a new-ish colleague that lovely as this measuring stick looks, and yes it's designed for use by visually impaired people, it's a actually a yardstick and not a metre stick. 

I also broke the news gently that it was pretty warped as well (we think it's been hiding in a cupboard by a some heating pipes!) and when we measured it with a accurate measuring device...

I also got the chance to do some rapid teaching about yards, feet, and inches, and also to repeat the rhyme taught to me as a small child.

A metre now is three foot three, 
it's longer than a yard, you see.

I think I'm beginning to show my age, there are fewer and fewer of us who are fluent in both imperial and metric measures of all varieties, though even I have to quickly look up how many yards in a mile if I'm asked.
