Moorland Path

It was hot from the word go this morning and, although it's to enjoy, we could really do with some rain for the garden, allotment and drying ground.

The first job after breakfast was to take advantage of the good weather to put a first coat of oil on the patio bench, then I spent some time digging weeds out from between the paving stones until coffee time when Tony reappeared from the allotment.

After lunch I took a slow walk up through Deepcliff and did a short circuit of the Moor.  My blip is taken on the return path along the top of the valley before I made a very tentative descent.  The strong sun filtered down through the leaf canopy on the silver birches making for a pretty 'tunnel'.  This was open moorland when Tony and I first came to live in the village.  The ground either side of the path is covered in bilberry.

Back home, Sarah called in to pick up the Parkrun Defib, keys and the forgotten caution sign as we won't be there this weekend.  I relaxed for an hour and worked on my new jigsaw before prepping dinner and heading to pilates, which has done a good job of loosening my knee.

Big hugs to Euan who has just finished his school's month long physical challenge.  He chose to do at least 11 111 steps a day so we sponsored him one pound for every 10 000 he achieved.  He's just relieved us of £38, well done Euan!
