Down in the Valley
Fabulous weather here on the East Coast today, much like the rest of the country I believe. Especially when you think we are still - just - in April.
Coffee morning first thing, then once home it was a few chores and got the washing out on the line etc.
I had intended to finish off looking at the mono Monday entries but the time ran away with me, so that will be concluded tomorrow.
We had an impromptu early evening dog walk once it had cooled a little and decided on The Valley Gardens as it was mostly in the shade.
The beach, lower prom and Marine Parade were absolutely rammed with people, so although it had vaguely crossed our minds to have a chippy tea on the beach (something we’ve been promising ourselves since we moved here), we actually headed home and caught up on some TV instead.
My picture was taken down one side of the valley gardens looking across the beck up towards town. You can just see the Albert Memorial which interestingly was originally the entrance to Barnard Castle’s first railway station in 1856. It was dismantled and brought here to Saltburn under the direction of Henry Pease who built a substantial part of the early Saltburn.
I really only took the picture to show the huge swathes of wild garlic. As we came down the path on the other side of the beck, there are also numerous other wild flower just waiting to be blipped :-)
