Lydford Gorge
Today I had a walk through Lydford Gorge in West Devon. Visitor to the Gorge usually park at one end or the other. At the western end there is a walk to the White Lady Waterfall and at the eastern end you you can visit the Devil's Cauldron and Tucker's Pool. I opted to walk from one end to the other and visit the Devil's Cauldron. The river here flows through a narrow steep-sided cleft in the dark-coloured rock.A narrow path with a handrail clings to the side and the river thunders down below. I couldn't get a good photo here, so ny blip shows a stretch of the walk where the sunlight filters down through the beech trees.
