Sunshine
Another beautiful day today but sadly I couldn't really enjoy it. By about 8pm last night I was exhausted, I felt like I'd been hit on the head with a sledgehammer (not that I actually know what that feels like) and so went to bed. I would have slept right through had I not been wakened at 1am by the sound of the carbon monoxide alarm beeping every minute or so. I knew what it was as it happened a couple of months ago with another one.
I blundered around the house trying to work out which one it was with my eyes half closed because I was so tired! Colin managed to sleep through it all of course! Eventually I tracked down the culprit and although tempted to throw it against a wall, I managed to open it and remove the batteries to silence it.
I fell back into bed and slept till after 9am. I woke up still feeling headachey so made a cup of tea and went back to bed, next thing I knew it was 11. I did manage to get myself out mid-afternoon as I'd arranged to see the kitchen fitter, but then came home and slept again. I woke properly in time to go out to Cafe Andaluz, for dinner this evening. They had very kindly given us a £10 voucher when they changed their loyalty club and it had to be used by Sunday. I now seem to be back to normal, (says who!) although I'm pretty sure I'll sleep well despite my sleepy day.
I'm blaming my shingles vaccine yesterday, no other ill effects, just completely wabbit. I'll know not to have the second dose at a time when I've anything planned.
My blip is evening flowers and the 9am temperature reading in the garden it rose to well over 25 in the shade. Pear blossom top left, apple top right, dwarf lilac bottom left and some beautiful bright yellow multi headed daffodils with a stray white one in there.
Next week the lilac scent will be almost overwhelming, it's completely covered in more blossom than I've ever seen.
