Job fair

I went to a job fair for energy professionals. I think over half the people there were USAID. Most of the discussions were for government employees looking for work in the private sector. 

I thought it would be pointless but it wasn’t. I learned more about profiles on LinkedIn for example and I may have made useful connections. 

I still only know one person who has gotten a job but I now know another person who has a little gig, some hours of work that hopefully he can expand. 

The Wall Street Journal said the Tesla board has opened a search for a new CEO. 

On Friday drones severely damaged and possibly ruined the 96L6E radar in Crimea. The radar station is an important part of the Russian air defense system. 

The Myron Instrument Making Plant was hit. There were five explosions overnight. It is deep in Russia. It makes ignition systems for munitions, or it did. 

McDonald’s and Coca-Cola have pushed back on talk about them returning to Russia. Russian media has speculated that they were coming back. They both, separately, told the Ukrainian advocacy group B4UKraine Coalition they do not intend to. They didn’t go into details, but even if sanctions were lifted, Russia still has high inflation, currency volatility, and high interest rates.
