Boys in the Boat

Thinking about Opening Day in Seattle this Saturday, with crew races and a boat parade at noon, I noted “Boys in the Boat” photo on the south outside wall of the Eastlake Aegis Assisted Living facility. The building has elements of shell house design to honor the long history of rowing on Lake Union, just across the street. As you know, both the book and movie detail the crew race gold metal victory by the underdog UW Huskies over the favored German boat at the 1936 Olympics. Book by Brown. Film by Clooney.
