Our nearly 20 year old fridge is on the fritz. The question is whether to spend any money on a repairman's visit +/- repair or just replace it now.

I am in the replacement camp. But the fridge has to be smaller than average to fit in our kitchen, as the location is the bottleneck leading to the back of the house. It is already a tight space. But today's fridges are almost 3 inches wider and deeper. Apparently, buying a smaller fridge actually costs more. That's American ingenuity for you!
