Berlin!

It took us a while to arrive, but we arrived safely in Berlin just before 8pm. We are staying in a airbnb in a beautiful building from the end of the 19th century (see extra) that somehow survived the destruction of war (one of the few buildings left standing). The owner is lovely and explained the history of the building, very interesting!
A quick trip to the supermarket as tomorrow is labor day and most shops will be closed. Followed by a lovely Punjabi dinner. After eating we walked up the Friderichstraße towards Checkpoint Charlie. Even after almost 4 decades of the wall coming down it feels eerie to think about the division of Berlin. The other extra: a remnant piece of the wall and the DDR.
