What a day

Wild weather kept me awake most of the night.

Roads were flooded and by the end of the day there was a State of Emergency declared for the city.

I still went to work but intended to try to leave early.

David rang me just before I was going to come home to tell me that he’d fallen over outside, fell backwards and was in a lot of pain.
Needed me to come and take him to the A&E at the hospital.
Rough drive home in torrential rain.
A quick two hours at A & E , quickest wait I’ve ever had there, most people staying home with the weather situation.

Dave had an x-ray, possibly broken ribs , so sent home with strong pain relief and told to watch out for signs of concussion.

10 pm and weather has settled down a bit.
