Dunes

Once upon a time the ruler of Jaiselmer wanted the daughter of a local Brahmin as his wife. This refused he gave the Brahmin time to reconsider before he razed his village. Time enough to call a meeting of the eighty village heads, a council making the decision to leave before the kings return.
Days later all eighty villages were deserted, the king upon his return finding all inhabitants vanished and no rumour of where they'd gone.
One of the villages, houses preserved by the desert and their proximity to nowhere.
And on to some dunes, music and sleep found beneath murky stars while the moon spilled shadows upon the sand.
