Dead tree and four birds

Another very sunny and warm day.  I met up with a friend for a quick walk up the River Otter to Otterton for a coffee.  It was very still and quiet with just the sounds of the birds around us.  We passed the swan sitting on its nest and saw several shelduck in the river.  When we came to this dead tree we noticed that there were 2 cormorants at the top, below it a buzzard and below that a heron.  What an unusual find.  A pity I didn't have the long lens with me.  They weren't on the tree when we returned. 

After lunch I popped down to the allotment for a little weeding although I didn't stay out too long as its still very hot.
