The serpent

We found this gorgeous creature on a gravel road. I saw a dead one years ago when someone brought it to Matt to identify. It’s a red rat snake, aka Corn Snake. Apparently we are out of its normal range so a bit unusual to see one here. It was stretched across the road. We stopped to move it. Johnny kept yelling CATCH IT! I know it’s harmless so I tried to but when it struck and touched my hand, I squealed like a girl! :—)) there is something about a striking snake, even a harmless one! I got a stick and moved him along.
