It’s Summer

And it reached 25 degrees here. My poached eggs are flourishing.

I had a lovely lunch at The Flintlock in Cheddleton. (The bouillabaise in extra)

If you saw Great British Menu, West Midlands, either this year or last, you may remember Thom. He was beaten by Tom Shepherd last year and by the final winner this year. Sheer bad luck but it does underline what brilliant chefs and restaurants we have in our area.

You can’t get a table at Tom Shepherd’s “Upstairs” for love nor money now.

The Flintlock, not far from the Flint Mill, the Churnet Valley Railway, and Thorswood, the reserve with amazing orchids next month, is well worth a trip.

I’ve already booked to return…..
