Mole caught in a wellie
In fact it was first spotted by John when two cats lay in front of the oven. John thought of a mouse, but no, this poor thing had somehow squeezed itself into a position of no return. John gingerly helped it into the wellie, a great tool for catching mice, and now moles, and let it go into the wilderness of the garden. A slow getaway followed by an amazing tunnelling action under the leaves, we could see the surface moving but not the animal. Thank goodness the cats alerted John. Although perhaps it better they didn’t catch them let alone bring it into the house. I have a short video to remind us of the action. In our lifetime of cats this is the second mole, a small creature with cute feet, we suspect Bobbie girl brought it in, she has a soft mouth and rarely kills her prey.
