1933: Loch Ness Monster sighted for the first time
Quote Of The Day
"Just because you saw a vampire doesn't mean that a snowman or a Loch Ness Monster also exists."
(Kumail Nanjiani)
Then again, it doesn't mean that it doesn't either.
It's rare that I give up on a book, but just over half way through this one and I've decided not to waste any more time on it. A book about a school of witches and "vampires" (they are actually Vessels, dead human bodies in which Demons have taken up permanent residence) sounds good, but 90% of the narrative is taken up with the main character, Willow, having sex with the Vessel head teacher, Gray. Having sex, or talking about having sex. Last night, after reading a scene in which Gray had his way with Willow as she was sprawled over his desk, she returned to her room where she was then handcuffed to her bed and blindfolded to await the arrival of an anonymous Vessel who will ravish her as part of a ritual called The Reaping that takes place regularly in the coven. Honestly, the prospect of another protracted scene describing where fingers, tongues, thumbs and fangs are in relation to Willow’s nether regions does not fill me with much excitement.
Don't worry, I won't really put it in the bin; it will go into the drop and swap at school.
