Pretty Light Blackout

Went to Lisbon for our flight today - and when we arrived discovered we were in an Iberian peninsular-wide blackout - all power, mobile connection, and therefore petrol, internet, lights, electric cookers, fridges, freezers etc. Quite a spectacular event! But as we couldn’t do anything about it, checked into this hotel and enjoyed ourselves - delicious lunch, a nap, swim in the lovely pool, and a brilliant dinner thanks to a family scramble round Lidl just as they were trying to close. All in all not so bad - especially compared to the poor people we found in the airport in the early hours - strewn across the floor everywhere, trying to sleep, or queuing trying to work out how to get home…
