Three Views of the Arboretum's Sundial and Tulips
Tuesday's adventures included a trip to town, a meal out, and errands. We managed to find 45 minutes for me to visit the Penn State Arboretum (though not the Palmer Museum, as it's only open Wed. thru Sun.), and I got there to discover the tulip show was moving along FABULOUSLY.
I took lots of photos, and here are THREE of my best shots that include the sundial and the many, many colorful blooms. That's the new Palmer Museum in the background in this photo. In the extras, you can see a shot that features the sundial to the left of the pretty dome of the Glass House at Childhood's Gate, as well as one of the sundial and flowers against a backdrop of campus buildings.
The daffodils are pretty much done now, and in a few days, the tulips will be too. But I was very happy to get there are just the right time. It was like a sea of colors, or maybe ribbons; it's hard to put it into words. So LOOK AT THE PICTURES AND ENJOY!!!!
I have three photos so let's have three songs. These are just songs I like, not necessarily related to any theme:
Fleetwood Mac, and Songbird, with Christine singing lead.
Miley Cyrus and Madonna, with Like a Prayer.
Ed Sheeran and James Blunt, with Sacrifice.
P.S. And then that evening, around 6:45 p.m., a horrible storm (a direcho, so they say) came through our area with amazing winds and took power out for hundreds of thousands of people in Pennsylvania. Our township had 100% power outage. The neighbor cat, LGK, has pretty much moved in with us these days, and he sleeps on the front porch all the time. My husband and I took a tunes box and a mini speaker and sat on the front porch and partied with the cat until the cows came home.
I called in the power outage shortly after it happened, and they told me power would be back by 10:30 p.m. that same night. As we watched from the porch hopefully, a truck with red flashing lights stopped on the bad corner beyond our house, and a guy got up in a cherry picker and did stuff, with lights flashy-flashy-flashing. And then . . . nothing else happened. The power would not return until Thursday night at 10:10 p.m.!!!
