Its the Way It Is

First Rose of Summer

is actually the Last Rose of Summer from early Autumn last year (where I blipped the rose and Charlotte Church singing it accompanied by uileann pipes (can’t find it sorry).

But it emerged today in all its beauty but sadly this photo doesn’t do it justice. It’s incredibly beautiful. It’s on my back wall and against a clear blue sky. It makes me very happy.

A lovely swim; brought my mammy’s old neighbour (only 92) in to visit her and it was quite poignant. They had been good neighbours for many decades and missed each other. Back in the day, when you were a young one, you called your parents’ contemporaries Mrs. this or Mr. that out of respect. So protocol dictates that I call her Mrs. Kavanagh …. although she is ancient but still not my generation. It’s a kind of respect.

Early swim; gardening: and now making Donal’s Custard Cream Cake for our swimmers breakfast (post swim ) tomorrow to celebrate her retirement.

and the tennis committee presented me with a bottle of white wine to thank me for organising last week’s table quiz. I don’t like white wine. It’s called Chablis but I might have a glass this evening just to try it.

Weather gorgeous today and we have a bank holiday

Yipeeeee
