Interloper

Today we cycled south of Haarlem to see the tulip fields, and then back north along the coastal cycleway. The weather wasn't so friendly and we had wind and rain for several hours, but thankfully not too much and with proper clothing it wasn't too bad. Even without the load of our clobber on the bikes, the bikes were painfully slow and I'd much prefer to have been on my own hybrid.

There are a lot of tulips and other flowers in the fields and the result is most impressive but on a cool and wet day I wasn't too exciting about taking pictures, but I do like this one with the pale interloper in the row of maroon tulips.

I can imagine on a sunny day the area would be very popular - the cool wet weather put most people off so we did have nice if damp views. We got back to our Bed and no Breakfast and had a nice hot shower and something to eat in preparation for our next ride.
