Gormley Heavies
We slept well last night. After a leisurely full English breakfast we joined up with daughter#1 and made a visit to an Antony Gormley exhibition, Witness:Early Lead Works at the White Cube. We do like his work. We liked the attendants too. They were helpful but very precise about how close we could approach the exhibits. I got the feeling that if we strayed too near we would be summarily ejected.
There were lots of upmarket art dealers near the gallery and we popped into one specialising in Pre-Raphaelite work. The assistant somehow sussed out that we were viewers not purchasers. We could have picked up a small Rossetti for £650k though, less than I might have imagined.
We are back in the hotel now after having a curry with the gang. Not for the first time we played Kids Against Maturity. Joe can read the questions now. He is a bit of a rascal though. His dad had taken him to a joke shop after school and he popped a trick ice cube with a spider inside it into mrsfb's drink. And Rory meanwhile had been in the wars a bit. Daughter#1 had a call from the school in the morning saying he had fallen over and banged his head but seemed alright and still wanted to go to the chess tournament, so was it OK to give him some Calpol. He went to after school sports as well, but insisted on showing everyone his wounded head when we collected him.
Back home tomorrow but we will spend a bit more time with the boys before we set off.
