Thou shalt not speak truth to the power

And so, in an exec order late last night, Dear Leader killed public funding to our system of public broadcasting and the hundreds of stations across the country who not only provide national news but often are the only source of local news.

Here’s the reason in his own words on his social media (all caps are his): "REPUBLICANS MUST DEFUND AND TOTALLY DISASSOCIATE THEMSELVES FROM NPR & PBS, THE RADICAL LEFT 'MONSTERS' THAT SO BADLY HURT OUR COUNTRY!"

In his actual order, it says: they [public Broadcasters] failed to follow the principles of fairness and impartiality that underpin their public role. Which viewpoints NPR and PBS promote does not matter. What does matter is that neither entity presents a fair, accurate, or unbiased portrayal of current events to taxpaying citizens.”

The White House statement also provided a long list of what it said were "trash that passes for 'news'" at PBS and NPR— among these items: reporting on transgender issues and NPR's apology for characterizing people as "illegal".

In the meantime, he and his regime and supporters communicate exclusively through media that are owned by their billionaire friends, regularly publish lies (actual and by omission) and have all fueled the frenzied tRump cult which has gotten us where we are today.

But that’s ok because these media support the regime’s point of view, so nothing biased or untoward here… sometimes I feel like I’m living in an alternate universe.
