Mayfly

…….. I took myself off to the lake this morning, in search of mayflies - as you can see I wasn’t disappointed ;-) Although, having said that, I think they were only just starting to emerge as there wasn’t many around, lots were being quickly caught as they took flight by the hungry demoiselles and damselflies ( also newly emerged, I suspect ). This was the best shot I was able to get as the ones that were not caught, immediately took cover in the nearby grass.
I’ve included an extra of one of the many Banded Demoiselles ;-)

It was a lovely morning with some thin clouds filtering the sunlight and keeping a comfortable temperature around 19/20 degrees. There were very few people around and in the nature reserve by the river I had the place to myself - just perfect ;-))
