Old flares

We carry a waterproof container of flares in case of emergency. These only last two or three years before becoming out of date and then have to be disposed of safely. The coastguard agency can do this for yachtsmen so we will be taking a trip soon methinks .
There are some laser flares being produced now but I think the jury is still out as to whether they will be satisfactory or not. It would be great to have something that lasted longer .
