Dry Hollow: Raindrops on a Vernal Pond
We woke up in the morning, and the power was on. The light switches actually worked! We had hot water. Everything was good! "I'm going to be happy today," I announced to my husband, first thing in the morning; and I WAS. I washed dishes, joyfully. I drank cold drinks. I ate hot food! Yeehaw!
My husband wanted to jog over at the gameland, so we packed ourselves into the car, only to discover that that road was closed. Oh well. Some roads are still closed. Some people are still without power; but not us.
So he turned the car around and we went to Dry Hollow instead. It was a bit buggy (mainly gnats) but otherwise okay. He ran, and I walked up to one of the best vernal ponds.
Rain had been in the forecast, but it looked like it would be spotty. I was glad I had taken my umbrella along, because we had several sets of pretty significant sprinkles while we were there.
I stood by a favorite vernal pond and took pictures of the rain on the water. And I was happy again; so happy! Our soundtrack song is Bobby McFerrin (featuring Robin Williams), with Don't Worry, Be Happy.
My only advice for this day: when it is time to be happy . . . BE HAPPY!!!
Note: Our power was out for days and I fell far behind on Blip. Please be sure to check out my catch-up Blips for:
