We set off for home, with an overnight stop at Warwick on the way.
We made good time so we had a wander around the town until it was time to check into our hotel. As the weather was so glorious and as we were staying only a short distance from the Grand Union Canal, we decided to walk the 2 miles to a pub for our evening meal (not the one pictured but a listed mill complete with working water wheel). We saw a pair of Canada Geese and their 6 goslings, but we also saw a rogue swan, on the attack. The parents were desperately trying to fend the swan off, with one parent trying to draw the swan away from the rest of the family.
When we got to the pub, we managed to bag an outdoor seat, next to the water. The meal was delicious!
Sadly though, when we walked back to the hotel a couple of hours later, one Canada Goose was looking from side to side. The other was ahead, honking mournfully. No sign of any of the goslings
