Magnolia soulangeana

No I haven't taken a petal off to expose the middle!  Seeing the petals had started to fall it seemed like a sensible time to take what will probably be the last in the series,  The first was on 1st February the second was on 1st April then the third was on 10th April and the fourth on 21st April.

With the fine weather still holding we spent most of the day in the garden.  There is a lot to do as we have rather allowed things to slip.  One pleasing point about being outside so much was we spotted a pair of House Martins taking occupancy of one of our martin nest boxes.
