Back in Glasgow again so made a day of it with a visit to the Kelvingrove Museum and Art Gallery in time to hear the daily organ recital. Today's programme of Scottish music was played by Aaron Hawthorne.
Having had our lunch in the cafe, an exploration of exhibits provided many Bliportunities so I've included two in the collage after the obvious organ case:
a portrait of Alexa Wilding, entitled Regina Cordium, 1866 by Dante Gabriel Rossetti
A punch bowl of the type used for locally produced rum, made by the Derby Porcelain Works, late 1700's - early 1800's.
Parking time up, we took the A8 through Kirk of Shotts aiming for the Five Sisters, a shale bing split into five peaks, for photographs. Finding suitable official parking impossible, we tucked into a spot off the road and followed a track, the bings hidden behind trees, as far as an open field. However, only four sisters were then visible, so I haven't included my efforts, preferring one of crab apple blossom passed on the way.
Then it was back to the car and amble home for a large cuppa and our tea.
