Fire on the cliff-top
Another routine day. Walked into town and then took the bus to Boscombe for bread. I started to get wilt, so returned home and relaxed on the bed. Watched the Arsenal v Bournemouth match. Won our first ever away match against them 2-1.
A couple of hours ago heard sirens so went to look on the balcony. The Overcliff Road had been closed, and police and fire engines around. Big fire on the Cliff-top. Went down to look. Now brought under control. 50m from the goats enclosure -scary!
Sadly, this happens every year or two. Usually a result of a discarded used barbecue (there are often illicit BBQs on the cliff-top itself).
Update
Some scary images in today's (Sunday) local rag of a roaring fire, out of control, fanned by the wind.
