Paul

At my mum’s care home there is an Irish resident called Paul. Paul has dementia, but retains the ability to play the accordion really well. He can barely remember his name or what he had for lunch half an hour ago, but his musical talents continue. He is a softly spoken man who often wants to be outside. The carers take it in turns to walk him round the block and he always helps my daughter in the garden. It’s his birthday this week and Nic has created this model of him to go on his cake.
