Praying Mantis

We have many Praying Mantis around where we live. They tend to make their way into the house quite regularly. The kids let them crawl up and down their arms and then we release them.

This fellow was so aggressive. He/she was using its claws to grab at us and the head would swivel right around so it could watch us. Once we put the Mantis back on the leaves it still just stayed and stared at us.

One of the things we really enjoy about our homeschooling journey is nature and how we interact with it. The kids have had alot of fun with other insects - giant slugs, the native animals that live here with us. We appreciate them sharing a little of themselves.
