Bad Cells

The heart of the matter

A day I do not want to repeat.

Arrived hospital 8am

Finally Alex (nil by mouth since 8pm previous night and fueled by steroids) went in at 1pm.

2.30pm I was called to recovery. He was screaming the place down.

Then spent 3 horrible hours with them worrying about his heart rate and an arrhythmia. Eventually they called a cardiologist to check the position of his central line with ultrasound, he looked at the output and said he thought it was just a reaction to the anaesthetic.

He's now fine and lying in his hospital bed watching TV with his brother, having just had 2 chemo drugs.

Where's the gin?
