Holt Market

Being the first Sunday of the month, it was the Holt market in town. It was the first time I’d been this year, a reasonable mix of  stalls, but a bit too many food stalls for me and not enough craft ones. There was a group showing a couple of owls, this white faced owl was tiny and soooooo cute! I did make a ceramic purchase from a lady that G and I did a pottery day with several years ago - no doubt it will feature in a future blip. This afternoon I took down a 7ft laurel tree which was getting too big for the space. The cut up branches are in the garden waste bin, I sawed the trunk into three pieces to add to a wood pile for insects, and I managed to get the root ball out. I left getting the remaining roots out of the soil for another day, but the heavy work is done. The forecast was for light rain all day, we had a little bit, but it didn’t even register on my weather station rain gauge. Ooh and two of the nine blue tit eggs in my camera bird box had hatched this morning - she’s sitting on them at the moment so I can’t see if more have hatched. I was very pleased to see the male arrive with food, which the female took, portioned up and fed to the hatchlings. I want to know how he knows???
