Glass Harmonica
…and some woodwinds, on display at the Hessian State Museum, Darmstadt. The instrument was propelled by the pedal, and the tunes made by touching the correct glass with a wet finger.
A few more impressions of my visit today in the extras: St George fighting the dragon (stained glass made in Cologne around 1450); a view into a replica of a medieval castle hall; a planetarium from 1823 (note the paraffin oil burner on the left, next to a glass sphere acting as a light amplifier, electrical lights were not available in those days).
