Swinside
After which our cottage is named. It’s the little tree covered tiny fell in the middle of the photo.
It is privately owned so you can’t walk up there unfortunately.
We went to Whinlatter forest today and walked up to Lords Seat. Incredible views in all directions because it was clear, although there was an icy northern blast!
I’d come away without a hat so had to buy one at the visitor centre( annoying as I have loads at home) and I wore it most of the time we were out. Really chilly I thought.
The view is from a little way up out of the visitor area where the Forestry people have had to cut down lots of Larch trees due to a fungal infection which has had a major effect on a lot of our larch trees. The cutting back has created a big gap in the trees at this point where you can look across to Keswick. They have made it into a viewpoint with some picnic tables.
An enjoyable day.
Keswick is rammed!
