We popped in to Harewood House to take a look at the Turner meets Austen exhibition. It was a little unusual; the premis,  “Of course, Turner and Austen never met, but what if they did ….?” seemed contrived. But what Harewood is doing very well is articulating it’s history, particularly it’s links to the slave trade. And it’s these issues that were the most engaging. There was a strong exhibit surrounding Turner’s painting, Slave Ship. It’s good to come away with more questions than answers.
