Remembering

On the first anniversary we brought some of Mr P’s ashes to this tree: ten of us, my kids, their partners and my five grandchildren.
We intended to go on a walk but it was torrential rain that day and we went back to my house instead. It was in those strange Covid times, the year before we had been in full lockdown and it was a strange funeral. But hundreds lined the Main Street as we left the village. Most were runner’s he had coached over the years, some went on to run in international events, some just achieved a personal best. He was a great coach, didn’t matter your ability you just needed to want to improve and you did.

Had a walk in the bluebell woods to visit the tree. Last year this lovely den had been added to it and children get an enormous amount of pleasure when they come on residentials at the nearby activity centre. He would have liked that.

I was told it would get easier, it doesn’t but l do have a good life and make the best of it.
But l’ve been self indulgent this weekend.

Thanks for all the love x
Back to blip tomorrow.
